How far in advance do I need to book with you? 

We take bookings up to two years in advance of your wedding day. Popular dates do get booked up fast, so please enquire to avoid disappointment. Please note, late bookings made within 2 weeks of the Wedding inquire a late booking charge of £100.


How long have you been in business?

We began shooting weddings in  2014.

How would you describe your style?

Short Form. "A highly edited version of your wedding video which lasts between 15 and 50 minutes. The filming style can be similar to either the Journalistic or Cinematic videos, although this format tends to lend itself better to Cinematic videos as there usually isn't time to include the ceremony or speeches in full, as would usually be the case in a Journalistic video." - The Wedding Community. 2009. A Guide to Wedding Video Styles. Do you have a portfolio I can review? Is all of the footage yours, and is the work recent?

Yes, our most recent work can be viewed on the FILM GALLERY page. All of the Films featured on that page were filmed and edited by Lauren Simpkin Films. 


What type of equipment do you use?

We shoot very high quality 4K footage on Sony A7Sii camera. I also use Sony Tripods, a Syrp Genie Slider, Zoom Sound Recorders, Rode Microphones and a variety of lenses. 


Do you shoot in colour and black & white? Infrared?

We shoot in an extremely high quality, S-Log picture profile. S-Log is a gamma curve designed to record and transmit as much of the information recorded by your camera’s sensor as possible. S-Log breathes life into the footage by preserving the wide colour gamut and dynamic range recorded by the sensor. In post-production, we can create the image we want as part of the grading process. This allows us to have greater artistic control over the finished product and results in an extremely high, beautifully cinematic picture quality. 


Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?

 Yes of course. We'd love to hear your ideas and incorporate them, so your film is as personal and unique as you are. We schedule face to face (or over the phone, if you'd prefer) consultations with all of our clients no later than 4 weeks prior to the big day. This is when we can go over all of the shots you would like in your film together. 

Have you ever worked with my florist? DJ? Coordinator, etc.? 

There are a number of wedding vendors we work closely with. Please let us know who you have hired for your special day. Alternatively, if you would like any suggestions of reliable, professional vendors/services, please just ask. We can point you in the right direction!


May I have a list of references?

Are you the videographer who will shoot my wedding? If so, will you have any assistants with you on that day?

Lauren shoot's the majority of our weddings solo, operating two cameras during the Ceremony and Speeches. However, if you require a third camera capturing your day please do let us know. We have a catalogue of UK assistant Wedding Videographers that are willing to assist us. Please note, an additional charge would be added to cover our assistants day rate. 


Do you have a backup plan if you are unable to shoot my wedding for some reason?

In the extremely unfortunate instance that we am not able to film your wedding day, we have a catalogue of UK Wedding Videographers who shoot at a very similar style to us, who we can call on film on our behalf.


If my wedding site is out of your area, do you charge a travel fee and what does that cover?

We are always willing to travel around the UK. An additional charge will be added for venues over 30 miles away. This will be calculated at 10p per mile. If your venue is over an hour and a half's drive from us, we usually suggest overnight accommodation the night before the wedding. This is just incase of any bad traffic congestion or road closures on the morning of the wedding. We wouldn't want anything to delay us getting to you on your big day. It would also mean we have much more time to film on the morning of the wedding. 


Are you filming other events on the same day as mine?

No, we are always 100% focused on your Wedding. 


How will you (and your assistants) be dressed?

We dress in smart/casual clothing. Usually black/grey trousers, a blouse and a blazer jacket.


Is it okay if other people take Film while you're Filming?

Yes, we have no problem with your guests capturing parts of your day on their mobile phones or cameras, however we do ask that they maintain a conscious effort not to interfere with any of the professional recording.


Have you ever worked at my wedding site before? If not, do you plan to check it out in advance?

We familiarise ourselves with your venues prior to your wedding day so we can be prepared for any lighting issue or filming restrictions. This also allows us to determine the best route to take. We liaise with the location manager and wedding planner to determine with best camera set ups. Seeing your location also helps us envision what your film will look like so we know how best to incorporate the site's architectural elements into your film. It helps inspire us and gets our creative juices flowing!


What time will you arrive at the site and for how long will you shoot?

This is determined by the package you have chosen. We arrive on location very early, so we can capture the establishing shots, location details and so that we can focus completely on capturing your guests when they start arriving. If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay? Is there an additional charge?

We understand that sometimes the days events don't always go as planned and sometimes things overrun. We will of course stay longer than originally planned to capture all of what is agreed in your contract. An additional charge of £25 per hour would incur.  


Can I customise a package based on my needs?

We can negotiate a package and price that best suits you. Please contact me via the CONTACT page. 


How long after the wedding will I get receive my film?

We aim to have Films completed and delivered within 8-10 weeks of the wedding. The Post-production time scale is increase to 10-12 weeks during July - September, as this is a particularly busy time for us. 


What is the ordering process?

If you would like to order another copy of your dvd or request a highlights film please contact us via the CONTACT page. 


Will you give me the original video files?

No, we do not give clients the raw video files. However, if you'd like a copy of your Ceremony and Speeches in full perhaps our GOLD Package is for you, as this includes the Ceremony and Speeches in full.


When will I receive a written contract?

A contract will be sent to you upon booking. Please read through the contract throughly. By submitting your deposit, you are agreeing to the T&C's written in the contract. 

How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? 

The amount required to secure the date differentiates depending on the package chosen. Deposits start at £100 and are required upon making a booking. Please note, your date will not be saved until the deposit is paid. Please book early to avoid disappointment. 

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Please note all deposits are non refundable. If you do need to cancel your booking at any time please contact us ASAP via phone. 


Do you have liability insurance?

Yes. If you would like to see a copy of our Public Liability Insurance please just ask.
